Spelling Shed uses the Science of Spelling to teach spelling, which includes using phonics as a base and drawing upon research-based pedagogy such as teaching morphology, etymology and orthographic mapping as well as explicitly teaching spelling patterns. Spelling Shed also has a host of games to use alongside the scheme as a fun practice tool that are used by millions of pupils worldwide.

- Weekly, printable lesson plans, teaching slides and worksheets aid the delivery of the spelling, grammar and punctuation objectives;

Phonics Shed is a DfE-validated, systematic synthetic phonics programme with coverage from sound awareness in preschool to a full phonics scheme of learning. This leads into Spelling Shed’s complementary spelling system and is also compatible with 2007 Letters and Sounds.
Joe is your guide in the Phonics Shed garden and will introduce you to all of our characters. Each character you meet will teach you a new reading sound, or grapheme.
The comprehensive planning and overview documents are accompanied by physical and digital books, flashcards and all the supplementary resources needed to follow a flexible multi-sensory approach. You even get a Joe puppet to introduce to the children and to support your teaching!
MathShed is a mathematics platform designed to significantly impact the enjoyment of mathematics while improving results. MathShed teaching slides are aligned with White Rose Maths and other mastery curricula and take a whole-class approach. MathShed is fully resourced and uses a concrete-pictorial-abstract approach applying micro-differentiation. The fluency games engage and empower pupils , allowing them to put their newfound knowledge into practise.
The game aspect of MathShed ensures children are engaged and eager to practise their key maths skills regularly. The low-stakes games, quizzes and reward systems ensure that children find learning maths fun. The games can be played in class or assigned for home learning, making them perfect for in-school learning, homework or a hybrid model which many schools now use.
As well as times tables and number bonds, there are various components across the platform with teaching resources and activities for all areas of the curriculum, from Measurement, Shape and Fractions, Decimals and Percentages to Roman Numerals! The teaching slides, question sets and our digital lessons fully cover the National Curriculum across the primary range, and we have a full set of Early Number Sense question sets to complement these.

Literacy Shed Plus is the home of Reading VIPERS. This handy mnemonic is the basis for most of our reading resources. There are hundreds of Novel Discussion Guides for use in reading sessions. Comprehension Plus provides a range of short, cross-curricular, stand-alone, levelled texts and questions. In addition, News Shed provides a weekly child-friendly newspaper with an additional comprehension and activity booklet.
